Hair Loss Treatment and Restoration with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a popular and effective treatment to combat hair loss for anybody with thinning or balding hair.  This can include people with male pattern baldness, females post-menopausal that have thinning hair and those with alopecia.  It can also aid with bald spots in beard growth.

This treatment can also be used as an adjunct to stimulate hair growth post hair transplant procedures.

It works by harnessing your own blood’s healing abilities and growth factors to stimulate the growth of existing hair follicles.

Procedure:

We begin by taking a small sample of blood from the patient. This is placed in a machine called a centrifuge. The force of the machine isolates the Platelet-Rich Plasma from the blood. We extract the platelet rich plasma and this is then injected into the scalp at the hair loss sites to help repair, vascularise and strengthen the hair follicles.

Results:

Results are noticeable within one to two PRP treatments as you will notice better hair texture, thickness, and new hair growth. On average, it takes about 3-6 months to see measurable results.

Due to the hair growth cycle for optimal results most patients require a course of 3-6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.

Like many types of therapy and medical treatments, there are no guarantees when it comes to PRP treatment. Each case is assessed individually, with some achieving more desirable results than others. It can take some time to see meaningful results after starting the therapy and is a natural non-surgical way to strengthen hair.

Downtime:

Downtime is Minimal. You should be able to return to normal activity the following day.

Common risks including pain, bruising, slight bleeding, swelling but these tend to be short lived.
